Julia Hoffmann holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Bowling Green State University, a Master of Science degree in School Administration and a Certificate in Computer Graphics from Corcoran School of Art. She has been an adjunct professor for Virginia Commonwealth University and has taught classes in drawing and design for the University of Maryland.
Julia Hoffmann has published in Arts and Activities Magazine. Her artwork was selected as the cover for the Siggraph Conference CD in 1996 and her work was selected for publication in Real World Bryce by Susan Kitchens. She has been team leader of curriculum documents adopted by Fairfax County Public Schools and was the training and collaboration coordinator for the computer graphics program and teachers in FCPS.
Mrs. Hoffmann has 28 years of art teaching experience in grades K-12. Her experience includes teaching in Ohio, Florida, and overseas locations to include Beirut, Lebanon, Isfahan, Iran and Crete Greece. She has taught all levels of fine art as well as photography and computer graphics at the secondary school level. She recently retired as the Fine and Performing Arts Department Chair at Westfield High School in the Fairfax County Public School system, where she taught beginning and advanced computer graphics, and was the Westfield HS website curator. Mrs. Hoffmann is a 25 year member of NAEA and was a sponsor of the National Art Honor Society at Westfield HS.
Currently Julia Hoffmann is an adjunct professor for GMU where she teaches Secondary Art Education and the Seminar for Student Teachers. She supervises student teachers in the MAT program.
