Graduate Art Education!

Mason’s Graduate Art Education Programs are designed to meet the need for preparing future, highly-qualified art teachers as well as advancing pedagogical and leadership skills of current art educators in the metropolitan DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. Our goal is to foster the development of innovative and effective teaching skills and best practices that foster meaningful visual literacy in all students, pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Both Graduate Art Ed Programs at George Mason University include:

  • Exciting Art Education facilities in an award-winning building, currently under construction, scheduled to open Fall 2009
  • An outstanding faculty providing mentoring in studio art, art history, education and art education
  • Partnerships with numerous Washington, DC area art museums and cultural institutions
